The fireweed blooms like crazy at the end of July. My campsite proved that. the meadows were fields of purple from the flowers. They look especially beautiful at the base of the stately aspen trees.

The view of the mountains on the Alaska Peninsula from  a bush plane. I was flying into a remote lodge for a bear photography trip and the pilot took us on a little scenic tour. The volcano Mt. Redoubt in the background.

While riding my bike I noticed this great shadow. I knew I wanted to paint this, but the hardest part was to take the photo with my phone and not crash. I managed to do it.

Kayaking on String Lake in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Summer evenings are perfect for a quiet kayak, the lake was glass, the last light of the day on the mountains making for a wonderful reflection.
